This workshop meets four times (two weekends in a row) for three hours each session. Full attendance and participation in all 12 instructional hours is required for successful completion. In the workshop, students will learn to place and manage intravenous lines and infusion kits, and will also be taught how to calculate and administer medication intravenously.

Upon completion, students will receive a workshop certificate in IV Placement & Infusion.

Skills Taught in this Workshop:

• Winged infusion set placement and use
• Angiocath placement and use
• Dosage and other issues related to intravenous administration
• Drip Counting and Infusion pump methods

KCSP Clinical Workshop IV/Infusion Admissions Requirements:

18 Years of Age or Older

Phlebotomy or Accelerated Phlebotomy or Clinical Medical Assisting (or Equivalent Field Experience)
